The Gotthardt Viola is a handmade European production instrument with a warm, rich tone and a refined traditional appearance. It is crafted from fully carved, solid European woods air-dried for 5 to 10 years, including figured maple, and finished with inlaid purfling and a hand-applied oil varnish.
A full ebony fingerboard and ebony fittings complement the composite fine-tuner tailpiece with a Kevlar tailgut. Each viola receives final assembly and adjustments in the United States and comes strung with braided steel core strings.
The Gotthardt Viola includes an upgraded case and a high-grade, fully lined octagonal bow at no additional cost.
